"That they (the older women) admonish the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:4-5

Book Review and a Giveaway: Shadow Government

I feel terrible. I requested this book, Shadow Government by Grant Jeffrey, to read and review from the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group. It's about "How the Secret Global Elite is Using Surveillance Against You." Unfortunately, I tried several times to sit down and read this book and never got past Chapter 1. I ALMOST got to the end of Chapter 1.

I read the introduction and already disagreed with the fact that the author believes in pretribulation rapture. Let me be very clear: THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO ARGUE ABOUT! And I won't, so don't even try to. It's not worth arguing about, which is what many people do unfortunately, and I think it's a big waste of time and doesn't make you any more spiritual or pleasing to God because you like to debate points like these. But it did make me suspicious of what else I might disagree with the author about.

I am not big into conspiracies or government plots or such. It may be true that the government is invading our privacy and monitoring our every move. It may be a very bad thing that will someday cause problems for me. But the bottom line is that I can't do anything to change it. I find it ironic that the author talks about Western countries needing to pass legislation in the government to restrict surveillance..... the same government that is "secretly" surveying us. How on earth would legislation stop it if it's being done secretly by people with a lot of power?

If this is truly evidence of prophecy of the Book of Revelation coming true (and I don't know enough to fully agree with this), then why should I get all upset about it and try to change it? If it's prophecy of God, it will come to pass. Period. It just might mean Jesus is coming sooner than some people think, which is one very good point I agree with. We should live every day as if it were our last anyway. But why would I try to stop a prophecy from coming to pass?

Maybe the author answers such questions later in the book, but I just don't have much time in my life right now and I don't feel it would be best used reading this book. So, on that note....

I will send my copy to one of my readers. To enter the giveaway you can do any of the following, leaving a separate comment for each:
  1. Leave me a comment telling me why you'd like to receive this book

Hi. I would love to read this book because it deals with government and how it operates. I am studying Political Science and this is right up my alley(in my field of study). Any aspect of government I find appealing. polo-puppy-fluffyAThotmail *dot* com Please count me in. Cheers
